Thematic Focus: 🔋 Clean Energy | ✅ Certification Reform | 🇮🇳 Green Industrial Policy
🌿 Intro Whisper:
To turn the invisible into trust, India has now placed its green dreams on a stamp — certifying purity at the source.
🪷 Key Highlights:
- ✅ Launch of GHCI:
India introduces Green Hydrogen Certification Scheme of India (GHCI) to ensure traceability, transparency, and credibility in green hydrogen production. - 💧 What is Green Hydrogen?
Produced using renewable energy (like solar, wind), green hydrogen offers zero-carbon fuel alternative, reduces GHG emissions, and cuts import dependence. - 📜 Mandatory Certification:
- All domestic producers (except export-only units) must get certified.
- Only renewable-energy-sourced hydrogen will qualify.
- Conducted by Accredited Carbon Verification (ACV) Agencies listed under Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
- 💱 Market Mechanism:
- From 2026, green hydrogen certificates will become tradable in India’s carbon market, adding commercial value.
- 🏭 MSMEs in Focus:
- Can lead component manufacturing, biomass-based hydrogen, and localised tech services.
- Integral to job creation and supply-chain innovation.
- 🇮🇳 National Green Hydrogen Mission Goals:
- 5 MMT of green hydrogen by 2030.
- 125 GW renewable energy capacity.
- ₹8 lakh crore in investments.
- 6 lakh new jobs.
- Significant drop in fossil fuel imports and carbon footprint.
