Launched on April 1, 2016, the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) is the government’s flagship scheme to provide pucca houses with essential amenities to the rural poor. With a long-term target of 4.95 crore houses by March 2029, this programme is a key pillar of rural development in India.
